Description
We are inviting you to the 4th Bis-Man Contractor Engagement meeting - Building Code Update. This meeting will include representatives from the area building officials including the cities of Bismarck and Mandan.
The City of Bismarck Community Development Department – Building Inspections Division and the City of Mandan Inspections Department will be hosting a meeting to provide information about the local building code adoption and amendment process. At the meeting staff will provide a brief overview of the state building code and amendments. Staff would like to receive your comments, questions, and suggestions on local amendments prior to proposing the adoption of the updated State Building Codes.

The following model codes will become effective throughout the State of North Dakota on January 1, 2025, and will be considered for adoption in the City of Bismarck and the City of Mandan.

At the bottom of the page, you will find the proposed 2024 ICC proposed amendments and the 2024 amendment scorecard under Additional Information. The voting meeting for the 2024 state amendments took place on September 11, 2025. The results of the voting meeting will be updated on the Division of Community Services website by November 18, 2025.
